Health and Wellness Coach Training Programs

Community As Medicine™ Health Coach Training Program! This program is designed to teach you the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to meet the coaching process standards and competencies set by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC). You'll also learn about cultural humility, trauma awareness, and the Community As Medicine™ approach, which are core values of Open Source Wellness. If you're an aspiring bilingual health and wellness coach, we offer Practical Skills Assessments in Spanish.

LYTE's mission is to meet the needs of a growing and diverse breast cancer survivor community. This Health Coach Training Program will prepare breast cancer advocates and community members to effectively provide health and wellness coaching to breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer within their communities, support groups, hospitals and clinics, and organizations. The next cohort will start at the beginning of 2025.


NBHWC Continuing Education Approved Courses

We are on faculty for a continuing education course, "Cultural Differences in Health Coaching for Spanish-Speaking Populations: Practical Learning Through Motivational Interviewing and the Trans-Theoretical Model of Change." This course connects Spanish-language coaches for learning and discussion. Students will understand LatinX communities' unique needs and cultural differences, use trauma-informed, culturally aware language in Spanish coaching, apply the Stages of Change (TTM) and Motivational Interviewing, and build a supportive community of Spanish-language health coaches. CE Credits: 7.5. Dates: August 15, 22, & 29. Location: Fully Remote.
